Overview:
HELIX (or helically wound) antennas are very popular for EME
(Earth-Moon-Earth) and satellite communications. They give
the user the best of two worlds, both vertical and horison-
tal polarisation with a single antenna.
When two HELIX antennas are working against each other, the
gain is about 3 dB higher than would be the case if one of
the antennas would be a single polarisation antenna.
