YALOVA DEVLET HASTANESİ

YALOVA DEVLET HASTANESİ was started by the TURKISH government as a health station in Yalova in 17.01.1971. And then in 02.01.1976, YALOVA DEVLET HASTANESİ was converted to a Dispensary. After the biggest earthquake disaster, in 17.08.1999, in Yalova, it was converted to a new prefabricated hospital with 43 beds in 17.01.2000. Afterwards, in Yalova, insured people number increased and because of doing health servicing efficiently, Yalova Yaşar OKUYAN Area Hospital opened to service with beds. And then dating from19 February 2005 it changed to service as a Yalova State Hospital.



2. HISTORY OF BIOMEDICAL ENIGEERING

Biomedical Engineering originated during World War II. Biologists were needed to do work involving advances on radar technology. This work prepared them for the electronic developments in medicine in the post-war years. However, two problems arose. The next generation of biologists did not have the benefit of that knowledge and technology advanced so rapidly it surpassed the older generation's understanding.

Obviously, a bridge between the gap of technical knowledge and biology was needed. Doctors and biologists with an interest and understanding of engineering, along with electrical engineers with an interest in biology, became the first bioengineers. Those primarly concerned with medicine became the first Biomedical Engineers.


3. WHAT'S A BIOMEDICAL ENGINEER?

A biomedical engineer uses traditional engineering expertise to analyze and solve problems in biology and medicine, providing an overall enhancement of health care. It turns out that lots of people have a common interest of trying to improve human life, which exploits the many specialty areas inside of the field of Biomedical Engineering.
